A male Indian Giant Flying Squirrel (Petaurista philippensis) found with injuries in the Silent Valley National Park was admitted to Kerala Agricultural University's College of Veterinary Sciences Hospital in Mannuthy on Monday. Wildlife officers found the squirrel lying in a semi-conscious state under an electricity line in the park. Assistant Wildlife Warden A. Nagarajan got it admitted to the hospital.Aravind Ghosh, professor and head of the hospital, said the animal must have suffered an electric shock.
